Vlog Challenge: Worst date ever

Today's Vlog Challenge was to describe the worst date I had ever been on. For me that would have to be my wedding. It was also the best date ever since I got to marry my hubby. 




What was the worst date you had ever been on? Why?

I decided to take Abbie to the bookstore a little over a week ago, on Friday September 21st. I was in hope of finding some book series that I could get her to read that would spark a love of reading. I naturally do not have a love for reading but rather lothe it.  When I was growing up I had several issues with reading and never truly felt sucked into a book like I would hear other describe. The star wars book were a huge solution to my parents struggle to get my oldest brother to read. He founds something he connected with and had a passion for. I want that for Abbie. We picked her up a book about a mermaid. We have yet to start it due to the chapter books she has to read for school. I am hoping to get back into the rhythm of things at home. I also decided that it is important for her to see me reading more, if I want her to read. My struggle with self image...

When I look into the mirror I don't recognize myself. I see this person who has glimpses of me but at the same time is not in the same body as I remember. At some points I try to avoid them, for fear of breaking down in tears. As distorted as it is, I don't imagine myself as a fat person. I feel trapped in my body.  I am an emotional eater. I am sitting here filled with anxiety over what I am about to post, and trying to resist the large bag of  Cheetos that is calling to me. Though I know it is wrong, I am one of those people who eat to numb the pain.  When I was speaking to a friend of mine, the other day, we were discussing anticipatory anxiety (where you become anxious at the thought of whatever might cause anxiety. One of my counselors told me that the best way to face it is head on.  So here I go.... (heart beat races... breathing becomes rapid... sweat begins to accumulate on forehead.) Political Correctness

Oh how often I find myself in conversation with my daughter and she tries to soften the blow by lying. I am not sure if she is trying to deceive me or trying to deceive herself. The way she does this is not by completely disregarding the claims made against her. No, she instead will change her wording to make it sound less terrible.  I have so many examples but a few are as follows. Stating she "borrowed" something, instead of stole it.  Stating that she was "joking" about something, instead of lying about it.  Stating that she didn't push the person "too hard" or claim things as accidents. Why does she do this?  I think there are two main reason that she does this. Firstly, she does it because she is afraid of the reaction and the punishment she will receive.
