What Can I Say?

Dear friend of mine, 

 I know that you are facing a difficult time in your life. I know that things seem overwhelming, confusing, and hopeless. It can be so hard to see God's hand moving at this time.  I wish that telling you that God is in control would make it all better, but part of faith is choosing to believe even when you don't feel it. My heart aches for you. I truly wish I could take this pain from you or help you through this time. Your burden is on my heart and I will be praying for you. I truly believe in the power of prayer and can see God moving in the lives of others as they face times of trial. I love you and am there for you if you need me.

 The last several years have been very turbulent in my life. God has shown me His grace and peace in these times but they were times of great trials. For the last week we have been in a time of peace. It has been a great relief. Sadly, as I am in this time I see all those I love around me in times of pain and disappointment. Some in a situation that I could never imagine. I think that God gives us the grace we need when we are in the times we need it. If I had been able to see all the things that I would have had to deal with I would have been extremely discouraged and not seen any hope. What can you say to a woman who's husband was killed? What can you tell a mother who lost her child? What can you say to someone who has been patiently waiting for the desires of their heart and begin losing hope? I don't know if their are words. All I can think to say is I am sorry. I am sorry you are hurting. I am sorry you have to face this. I think sometimes there aren't words but there is intercessory prayer. I love how scripture says in Romans 8:26 " In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans." It is like God knows that sometimes our pain is so deep that there are no words for it, just groans. There were times in my life when I couldn't even form words when praying and would just weep and throw myself into God's loving arms.

I decided to take Abbie to the bookstore a little over a week ago, on Friday September 21st. I was in hope of finding some book series that I could get her to read that would spark a love of reading. I naturally do not have a love for reading but rather lothe it.  When I was growing up I had several issues with reading and never truly felt sucked into a book like I would hear other describe. I also decided that it is important for her to see me reading more, if I want her to read. I Could Have Just Died (Most Embarrassing Moment)

I haven't done a writing prompt from Mama Kat's Workshop, so when I saw that one of the prompts was to tell an embarrassing story I thought I just had to share. Hopefully, this will lift your day as it usually seems to get a good chuckle out of my friends and family. I don't usually embarrass easily, I contribute it to the fact that I am silly and usually like to do weird things. I have also stated that I like to be completely honest with people. There is a kind of freedom that comes with transparency. The day seemed like any other. We had gone to my mother in laws house to pick up Abbie, she was only a couple years old at the time. Any trip to my mother in laws house is not a quick one, and usually I don't mind it. I went and sat on her front porch to "catch some fresh air", which was my code for smoking a cigarette. How NOT to Impress a Crush (Most Embarrassing Moment Part 2)

I recently did a post on my most embarrassing moment inspired by Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop. After writing it I had comments asking me to share the other embarrassing moment that I had mentioned in the other post. So here it goes... It was pretty bad.  During my sophomore year of high school there was a guy in my home room that I had a crush on. He was handsome, was in a band, and was funny. We shared the same group of friends. One night his parents were out of town and he was having a pool party at his house after his band preformed. It was going to be the coolest event. When we got there he showed all of the girls where we could go to change into our swim suits. I had the chance to change and joined everyone at the pool. It was the most fun time. Time went so quickly and soon I had to run before I missed my curfew. I threw my clothes on over my swimsuit, jumped in my car, and got home.
